I was born with music in my blood. I remember sitting under the piano listening to my mother play all styles, from gospel to pop music. My father would sit me and my sisters down many times and literally make us listen to music from Beethoven to Frank Sinatra. When I was younger I couldn’t stand it, but now I realize what a blessing it was to have such a rich musical foundation.
Creativity was the reason I chose my musical journey. I believe we’re all creative in some sort of way. Creating not only helps us connect with ourselves, it also allows us to connect with others. I remember writing my first song when I was 13 years old. I also remember playing it for others and experiencing the joy of connecting with others through it. I continued writing all kinds of music in high school. That’s when I decided I wanted to be a composer. Writing music helped me discover who I was at an early age. I believe it is one of the reasons I was born.
I decided to study music in college, and finished with a B.M. in Music Composition. We all have dreams and desires. I chose to chase mine, so off to New York I went chasing my dream. Because of that choice, I've had the opportunity to perform and teach music all over the world, including, Switzerland, Italy, France, London, Holland, Poland, India, Haiti and Africa.
In all my travels, I've truly experienced music as a universal language. When it was difficult to communicate verbally with a musician in other countries, placing music in front of them allowed us to communicate all day long.
Music has blessed my life in many ways. My passion is to share those blessings with others.
